Day at Knott's Berry Farm

Making more memories.

On Saturday, we meet friends Dave, Michelle and Maddie at Knott's Berry Farm. It was a beautiful 80 degrees in January and a perfect day to hit the park.

The park was busy, but Maddie and Tanith managed to get on a lot of rides.  Both daddy's even won their little darlings a Yo Gabba Gabba dall at the "Guess my Age" booth. It was a wonderful day with family and friends. We got there around 10:30 am and left around 5:50 pm and the girls (and parents) were such good troopers for such a long day.  They girls held out without a nap and did not seem to need one until we left. I thought Tanith would be out for the count when we headed out for our car, but our little one kept going until 8pm that night. Here are some photos from the day...wish I had captured more then I did.

More photos thanks to Michelle and Dave

Gung Hei Fat Choy

Happy Chinese New Year
the Year of the Dragon!

Today grandma and grandpa took Tanith out for the day and in celebration of the new year she posed for a picture in front of a dragon.

The Chinese New Year starts with the New Moon on the first day of the new year and ends on the full moon 15 days later. The 15th day of the new year is called the Lantern Festival, which is celebrated at night with lantern displays and children carrying lanterns in a parade.

Fun Times for Tanith

Tanith had her first Pre-K Play and Practice class, followed by Tap, Ballet and Tumbling at the recreation center near our home. Tanith did such a good job listening to the teacher and interacting with the other kids. She marched, played with balls and made a beautiful butterfly during the first class. Right after that she learned how to jump rope, walk on a balance beam and other tumbling activities.

After class we meet friends for lunch and had a nice time. Around 5:30 someone crashed...she did not want to take a nap all day.  Why nap when there is so much fun to have. Finally someone was just  too tired and could not resist the comfort of the couch.

Tanith's First Monthly Update for 2012

Its time to post the first monthly update for 2012. The post is a few days late, but better late than never.

Tanith Update
Age: 2 years and 6 months old
Height: 36 inches tall
Weight: 28 lbs.

Tanith is doing well and trying to communicate more these days. There are still times when it takes us awhile to understand what she is trying to tell us, but most of the time we figure it out. She is also speaking in three word sentences more and you can tell she is excited to be able to communicated better with us.

New for this year, is that we have decided to really start focusing on getting her potty trained, especially since the pre-school we found for her requires that all the kids are potty trained.  Wish us luck. She is not really into the idea yet. We are so excited that she starts two classes on Saturday's this month. One is a Pre-K Play and Practice and the other one is Tap, Ballet and Tumbling.

Tanith's favorite things, is a book called 10 in the Bed, her kid TV shows are Yo Gabba Gabba, Upside Down Show and of course Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Tanith also loves watching Westerns, specifically Gunsmoke and Bonanza with her daddy. He turns those shows on and she actually sits still and watches them...cannot say the same for the other TV shows.  She still likes to watch the  Chipmunk movie, but her new favorite movie is Happy Feet.  We have lost count on how many times we have watched the movie...its a lot.  Daddy did end up taking Tanith to the movies to see Happy Feet 2 and she loved it.  Guess what movie we will be buying next :). She even does the happy feet dance.

Tanith enjoys playing with trains, stickers and coloring. But what she really loves, is playing with her baby dolls. She takes such good care of them, wrapping them up in blankets, feeds them, rocks them and sings to them. It is adorable to see how caring she is.  She continues to always want to be outside and be on the go. She still has a blast at Kids Club at the gym. She has the routine when we check her in, she can open the door (child proof...haha) and walks right over to the sitter so she can get her sticker and then takes off and plays. When it is time to go, we usually have to go in there and pull her out...she is having too much fun.

Some of my favorite times is still our after bath, and right before bed when we get on our pajamas, climb into "mommy/daddy's bed", enjoy a cookie watching her shows. It is a routine that mommy gives the bath and daddy brings the cookie. A new night time activity includes the Bumble Bee song and dance that daddy taught her.  It is adorable to see them go to the closet, pretend to capture a bee in their hand and dance around the room singing the song.

Happy January!

Someone fell asleep in our bed while mommy was traveling for work. She woke up, looked at daddy and said "wow"
I made a taco like mommy and daddy all on my own!
