March Update

Hello March...time really goes by too fast.

Tanith continues to grow and test my patience at times. We are more than half way through 2nd grade and have seen a lot of growth in development. Tanith has some challenges with writing and word problems, but loves math and reading. This year she has learned a lot from Helen Keller, Abraham Lincoln, JFK and dinosaurs. This month the class will put on a show for the school and Tanith has a speaking part.

March 4 - Kicked off the new month, with some quality time with the family making our annual Hamantashen cookies for Purim. The girls all have now mastered the art of the rolling pin and pinching the cookie dough to make the "hat" like shapes. Most importantly was the time spent together and the cookies were delightful.

March 5 - Disney in the rain and we got wet, but had fun and that is all that counts.

March 9 - Lunch on the Lawn at Tanith's school.

Breakfast with daddy in the morning and Costco with mommy in the afternoon.

March 11 - It's about time...we visited our local library today and Tanith got her very own library card. She wanted new books, but rather than buy them, I thought it would be fun and a learning experience to visit the library. It is a good sign when she already wants to go back and get more books. Next time she wants to bring a blanket and read outside near the pond.

Surprise in her backpack today. She has been working really hard in her reading group and I was so proud of her achievement. Reading 900 words.

3/29 - Today Tanith's class put on a production about Dinosaurs. They kids ran the entire show themselves and did a fantastic job.  Tanith had two speaking parts and a lot of dancing and acting like dinosaurs. Next month the class gets to visit the Natural History Museum to round off their dino learning.
Here is a copy of her main speaking part.
