Travel Confirmed

We are all set. Traveling July 9th and returning July 28th...yes we are staying a lot longer then we had originally planned because we could not get an earlier appointment at the US Consulate in Guangzhou. We will be traveling with 6 other couples from our original group and some from a priority group. Not sure how many couples in total, but glad we are not the only ones.

Today we received our updated itinerary and our  passports with the much needed Visa stamps. We should also have our flights confirmed this week.  Now all we need to do is buy some last minute things and start trying to pack our luggage.  July 9th will be here before we know it and I hope I can accomplish everything in time. 

This is a picture of the Pearl River in Guangzhou and one of the tourist highlights is taking a dinner cruise on the river.

Surprise Baby Shower

Today my coworkers completely surprised me with a baby shower. I am so lucky that I work with such great people. Tanith is going to enjoy all the wonderful gifts.

Travel Approval Check!

Great News.  Today we received notice that our TA (travel arrangements) have been approved by the CCAA. We are so excited! We still need our appointment date set for the US Consulate for our visa appointment, but it looks like July 9th is our travel date.  Will post more soon.

Testing Email to Blog Updates

Since we cannot access our Blog or Facebook while in China (everything is blocked), I wanted to test the email feature through Blogger. Just making sure that we can update our blog via email. Backup plan...have sis do it for me :)

Getting Ready

We are still waiting for the all important 3rd Call, which will let us know when we will travel. Our Visa paperwork is in and will be processed next week and thanks to our loving parents we now have a strolller and the bedding. We have been receiving wonderful gifts and lots of clothing passed down from dear friends. It is amazing how fast time flies and at the same time feels like we are moving in slow motion. It seems like forever since we received our referral and before we know it we will be on our way to China. Thank you to everyone for the support and wonderful messages.

Travel Update

We just heard from Norman with the US Asian Affairs team and our paperwork will be in the hands of the CCAA on Tuesday. It takes about 3 weeks for them to process and approve us to travel. What that means is that we may be able to join the group flying July 9th. We may not have a lot of notice before traveling, but I do not care. The sooner we can get to Tanith the better. Originally we were told that we would travel towards the end of July or early August. So keeping positive thoughts and hoping that we get to travel soon.

Almost One!

Well today is exactly one month until our baby girl turns ONE. It is hard to think we will not be there to share this special day with her, but we will plan a party when we return from China so that we can celebrate with our family and friends.
