November 2018

November Updates...

11/22/18: Life has been so busy that I am finally posting. November has started off extremely warm, feels like Spring rather than Fall, but it looks like we might be able to wear boots and sweaters soon. Here are some pictures so far this month and more to come after Thanksgiving.

End of Fall AYSO Season. Pink Pandas took 3rd place. There were some tears when they lost their last game, but they all improved so much and taking third was a huge accomplishment. Loved the girls, their parents, and our coach.

Daddy and daughter lunch at school.

Love this...what kid likes doing math problems in the shower...this kid :)

Thanksgiving - I forgot to take a lot of photos of the day, but did manage to capture these two.

11/23 - Playdate with pre-school bestie Sophia. Newport Dunes Resort, Annual Lighting of the Bay.

We lost our beloved fur baby Hutch today. It was a difficult morning and Tanith started making a heart surrounded by shells on the beach with Hutch's name inside. He was the best dog ever!

Decorating cookies, making Santa puppets, and writing a note to Santa.

11/24: Movie day - Seeing Wreck-It-Ralph with cousins.

 My lovely, silly girl!

11/25: A little culture today. Spent the day down in Los Angeles Art District looking at art, making art, and eating some yummy ice cream.

October Update

It's hard to believe we are already in October. School is going well for Tanith so far, but I will learn more in a couple of weeks after Parent/Teacher Conference. They really do not have homework, so its hard to gauge how she is progressing. All I know is that she is killing it on the handball court...luckily I can go online and see what they are learning in class since she doesn't say much. Soccer is in full force, so late night practices every Tuesday and Thursday and games on Saturday. Team is 1-2 so far, but more importantly the girls are learning and having fun. I am not sure how tall Tanith is right now, but I feel she is getting taller and taller.

Tanith said what?
Tanith says to me, "mommy I am a grown women now", I said "really", Tanith said, "yes - as she points to the plate of nachos she made all by herself"

Fall school pictures are in....who is this? Had to believe this is what 9 years old looks like. Such a beauty.

Tanith saved up her Mustang Money and had lunch with the Principal.
 Lunch on the Lawn
First ever rainy soccer game. Pink Pandas for the win.

Funny or not so funny. Tanith asks me almost every night what my favorite color is and I always respond with red. I wondered why she has not memorized it by now...well my answer came to me the other night. Tanith confessed that she has been keeping a secret from me and that the reason why she asks me what my favorite color is every night is to make sure it is me and that something evil has not taken over my body. So to add some context around this...over a year ago daddy let her watch a very scary movie (big time parent fail) called Insidious. This movie even scared me, so I can only imagine how it would impact a kid...well....my answer is a lot. After she tells me why she then whispers the movie title. This one will take a long time to overcome.

This next photo made my day. That morning Tanith had a little melt down...she was just so tired and I wake her up early every morning, but this one morning was terrible. When I picked her up from school she handed me this note. Hard to see, but it says "sorry for how I acted this morning". Love this girl so much!

Crazy hair day at school. Hair by Tanith...she has pencils sticking in her bun.

Trick or Trunk at school. I was only able to get a few shots because she did not want mommy following her around. Yes, she is growing up and it was not easy for me...but I was not alone, four of us mommies were all together at "home base" and they all came back and checked in with us throughout the night. She had a blast and it was nice for me too chatting with the moms.

The one and only picture with me...taken on our way out. Make-up melting off and tired.

Happy Halloween!
