August Update

What's New...sadly Summer is almost over, but the good news there is still lots of fun to be had!!! I am sure there will be a few trips to Disney, lots of swimming and more field trips with camp before school starts next month.

So lately the topic of conversation has been around "what do you want to do when you grow up". Last month, Tanith was set on being a mommy and mommy only...I told her she better marry someone with lots of money :)...as of this month, her vocation has changed and now she wants to be a hair stylist.  Let's wait and see what next month brings :)

Cool August Pics
Here is mommy and Tanith jumping around and enjoying the cool evening weather...of course there was lots of giggles watching mommy jump and playing jump tag, which was a workout :)

Taniith coming home from the OC Fair with her Summer Camp buddies. I never catch the bus when it comes home, so I was glad I did not miss it today.  They went on three rides, walked around and saw barnyard animals...oh there was also shopping and a new member of the family came home...Honey Bear :)

Tanith and Jordan her buddy showing off what they bought at the fair.  I love seeing how and what she spends her money on...at least it was not all candy and soda this time :)

Family BBQ, Swimming, Cousin Love = Fun Day!

Tanith has had pain in her ear for a few days, but after her swim, she seemed to be in more pain, so off to the walk-in and her diagnosis was swimmers ear and NO swimming for five days.  Not what this little fish wanted to hear!

Topped the weekend off with yummy Chinese dinner

Mommy and daughter beach day! Tanith had so much fun playing in the water, sand and even made some friends to splash around in the waves with...love seeing the joy in her eyes.

On our way to Summer Camp with Brady along for the ride and joining mommy at work

Love this picture of the girls all doing each others hair after swimming!

Neighborhood Annual Picnic

Alyssa's 7th Birthday...Tanith loved the whale raft and had so much fun at the party.

Random craziness at home and taking a walk in our princess nightgown...she insisted!

The usual Starbucks stop after gymnastics, followed by a trip to the hair salon...getting a hair cut for the first day of school...any day now I will have a 2nd grader!

Aug 29 - Mommy/daughter day at Disney.  Had such a wonderful day and rode tons of rides. It was very hot, but not too crowded as many kids are already back to school...not us...not yet!

The picture below on the roller coaster was of a smiling face, even though the ride broke down with us on it. The good news, we were not upside down when the ride broke and Tanith never appeared scared or concerned, which I think had everything to do with me and how I reacted to the entire situation. I remained calm and in good spirits...even helped the young boys in front to remain calm...not everyone on the ride took the stop so well and a lady was having a full blown panic attack.  So we were stuck on the ride for at least 15 minutes, listening to a women screaming before the workers rescued us from our seats and the hot sun. We had to walk down the ride and will go on it again...once its fixed :) This was a first for both of us and will be very happy if it never happens again. Below...still smiling!!!

After the hot roller coaster excitement, we decided it was necessary to cool down on the raft ride...which we did...Tanith got super soaked and had a blast!

The very much anticipated Frozen show...new at California Adventure!  In order to see the show, we had to get to the park before it opened, so we got get our hands on one of the fast passes to the show. Since we did not make it standing in line as standby last time, getting a fast pass was necessary and well worth it, as Tanith absolutely loved the show and wants to see it again.

Getting up early = great seats!!!

For our final ride of the day...we had a "free" pass to any ride due to the ride evacuation, so Tanith selected Radiator Racers....no wait and as always a fun ride!

The end of Summer vacation is upon us and in two days school starts. Not looking forward to the long days and homework, but at least Tanith is excited to start school and says she wants to learn...I think tutoring over the Summer has inspired her and given her more confidence.  In addition, she read 30 books, which was the goal we set together and there were many nights I had to tell her to put the book down because it was time for bed.  We definitely had less television and more creativity/reading, which was great.

The highlights of the Summer were hands down...Yosemite, time spent with the family and lots of swimming! Looking forward to a great school year and counting down the days until Thanksgiving break!

Aug 30 - My birthday and Tanith was so excited to have me open her gift...she actually wanted me to open it the night before, but told her I wanted to open it on my birthday.  Grandma took her shopping and bought me a cute paper weight and then added a few of her things to the gift...one being a small Winnie the Pooh doll because mine is so old and that I loved it so much...it was actually her doll, but she gave it to me and asked me to take it to work. She also gave me two dollars and two cents...she keeps going to her room and bringing me more gifts :)  LOVE!
