Two Year Check Up and more

Today Tanith had her two year wellness check up and I am glad to report she is on target for her height, weight and development.  She received one shot and did not even blink an eye...took it like a champ.  She is still 34 inches and 25 lbs...I think our scale at home is off a bit because she weighed in at a respectful 27 lbs just a few days ago. The doctor even predicts that Tanith could grow to be anywhere from 5 feet 7 inches tall up to 5 feet 8...only time will tell.

After the  doctors appointment we dropped daddy off to get a very special tattoo on his arm.  The tattoo is Tanith's name in Chinese, the band around the arm represents the Zodiac sign of Cancer and on the back side of the arm is the Chinese Zodiac symbol of an Ox.

Tomorrow I will be posting again as it is a very special day for our family...until then.

San Diego Zoo

We had a wonderful time at the San Diego Zoo on Saturday with all of Tanith's buddies.

Grandma and grandpa were able to join us for a few hours and then we meet up with the group for lunch at a restaurant called Alberts inside the park. After lunch we watched a fantastic Chinese Acrobatic act and all the girls were mesmerized with the entire show. As always it is so nice seeing all the girls together and really growing up together, so many wonderful memories are being made for our girls. Next we headed out to see many of the zoo's animals.  I have not visited the park since I was a little girl and did not remember how beautiful it is and was amazed of the array of animals and activities. Tanith's favorites animals were the monkeys, panda bear, lion and elephants. While visiting the lions den, Tanith made the sound of the lion, which the other spectators found adorable. There was also an interesting sign that stated "Caution spray range 7-10 feet" and immediately after reading the sign, the lion proved the sign correct. Luckily I was quick on my feet or else Tanith and I would have been struck. Before we knew it the zoo was closing and we still had much more to see.  We definitely need to go back again.

Happy 4th of July

Tanith celebrated her first 4th of July this year!

We had a great afternoon BBQ with the neighbors and Tanith had so much fun playing with the older kids. She wanted to do whatever they were doing and they all took such good care of her. Dorothy's fabulous potato salad, homemade deserts and John's killer margaritas were a hit.  We were not sure how Tanith was going to react with all the fireworks, but once again she amazed us.  She absolutely loved them and kept asking for more. She covered her own ears when she felt it was too noisy and sometimes grabbed my hands and covered them...too adorable.

As you can imagine, I captured a lot of the day in pictures and here are some of my favorites.
