Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day. Last year we celebrated knowing that Tanith would be home in our arms soon, but today was my first official Mother's Day.

Tanith made me a card and we spent a nice time together with the family. Tanith had fun playing with her cousins and even decided to rub her food into her hair as you will see in the photos. I am so blessed to finally be a mom and thankful that I have such a great role model to follow in my mother.

I couldn't have asked for a better day.

22 months old today!

It is still hard to believe our little girl is almost two, but she is. Today Tanith is 22 months old and doing really well. Every day she continues to doing something that amazes us or just makes us smile.  It's the little things, like her rubbing my back and then giving me a kiss. Some new milestones...she is able to complete a somersault on her own and the other day tried to climb out of her crib...isn't this too early?  I think so! She is very observant and tries to copy everything we do and wants to do everything on her own. She is also trying to speak more these days and her new favorite words are "more" and "bubbles".

Today she is at 25.2 lbs and 34 inches tall

As most toddlers her age, she is never happy when you tell her to "wait a moment" or "not now" and she lets you know it. Timeouts have continued. It really is very hard to punish her and when we do, we have to maintain our composure. She is now putting herself in timeout...after her first warning and she decides to continue to misbehave, there have been moments when she just walks herself over to the designated timeout spot and waits for us to say something.  It takes everything for us not to laugh.  It really is hysterical, but at the same time breaks our heart...but it needs to happen.

Tanith also had her very first sleep over at grandma/grandpas house a few days ago and did really well. Mom and dad on the other hand missed her and wanted to go and pick her up at 11 pm...but did not :)  We are so lucky that she has great grandparents who love her so much.

Someone got into the lotion and decided her doll needed some!
