May Update

What's New!
Well it is still early in the month, but as of the 1st, Tanith still has wiggly tooth number 6, but it should be coming out very soon.  School is going well and we are looking forward to the final last few months of 1st grade before Summer vacation and our family trip to Yosemite!

May 1 - Spent the day with cousins playing and shopping. Had a lovely day and the weather was so beautiful. Ended our play day with some ice cream and then back home to get ready for work/school.

Love that she eats almost everything and anything...proof is in the picture of Tanith enjoying an oyster for dinner.

At Fu Wing Lo's (Kenny's) picking up food to go...it's whats for dinner tonight :)  Can you say YUM!

What a wonderful weekend of gymnastics, birthday party at the beach and Mother's Day.

May 7 - It is now official, Tanith had her gymnastics test to move up to Level 2 and she passed. Mom and dad were so nervous, but she did amazing.  On the car ride home she said she wanted to scream, she was so excited she passed!  Later the same day we had a lovely day at the Peninsula in Long Beach to celebrate Olethea's 8th Birthday and Tanith learned how to paddle board.

It is kind of hard to see, but Tanith wrote me a message in the sand "I love you, from Tanith"

May 8 - Mother's Day at Disneyland with Auntie Sheryl and cousins. It was perfect weather and not to crowded. The longest we waited to get on any ride was 20 min and ironically the longest line of the day was for lunch! Later at home, Tanith gave me a few things she made for me at school and then we had a nice dinner.  Could have not asked for a better day...so blessed!

Rides we went on (some for the first time, but they did not want to go on It's a Small World because its for babies): Matterhorn, Star Tours, Indiana Jones, Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain,Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean.

Not too busy, ironically the longest lines we had were on the bus to get to the park and lunch.

Love this photo of Money and Tanith holding hands on the ride.  Everyone agreed that this was the favorite ride of the day!

May 9, 2016 - Lost tooth number 6 at school and did not loose it...happy girl!

Dentist Appointments are not how I remembered them...video games in the waiting room, TV on the ceiling and you get to pick your flavor toothpaste and flavored fluoride (which does not have to be placed in a tray and stuck in your mouth for 30 min like I experienced).

First day in Level 2...she did great and was showing her friends from Level 1 she moved up.

Followed by blueberry picking at grandmas and then mani/pedi....great day!

May 18 -  Absolutely love this.  A picture from 2011 and one from today...Tanith loves Quincy...I think the feeling is mutual.

May 20 - Tanaka Farm's Field Trip.  What a fun day and so happy I had the opportunity to experience it with Tanith. We samples a number of veggies straight from the field and then picked our own strawberries. Great experience and tasty fruits and vegetables for all!  I hope places like this stay around and are not sold for further development.

The usual weekend of gymnastics, other shenanigans and adventures with cousins.

So 1st Grade is coming to an end...Tanith can home ecstatic that this was the last week of homework and that there is only 15 days left of school. Coming up is a school performance, carnival and then Summer break goes into full effect.

5/29:  BBQ with friends and Tanith had her first "official" sleepover at a friends house.  Yes, she has slept over grandma/pa's house with her cousins many times, but this will be the first time with "non-family"...well the McDonough/Cooks are like family since we have known them for over six years...Megan and Tanith even longer, as they were "crib sisters" in China.  Had such a lovely visit and then I said goodbye and the fun continued. The girls built a fort to sleep in and ended the night with tasty s'mores. According to Tanith she has never stayed up so late...think the last report was 10pm before lights out :)  The next day I went to pick her up and they were already swimming again. I had to drag her home...glad she had a blast!
