August Update

 What's new in Tanith's world?

Tanith has been enjoying her first official Summer Break from school. She has gone on a lot of field trips with her Summer Camp, lots of swimming at Grandma/pa's house, play dates and a trip to Costa Rica...I do not think much can beat that, so hoping we have fun the remainder of the Summer and then start getting ready for the 1st Grade.

Aug 1 - Went to cousin Julianna's 6th Birthday Party, which Tanith experienced a few things for the first time. First she got to ride a mechanical bull, rode it at least ten times and kept asking the person with the controls to go faster!  Then she was up to bat to her very first pinata experience; which she was a little upset she did not break it open, but had fun trying and loved the mad dash for the candy when it finally opened up.

8/16 - I have a lot of pictures yet to post, but will before the end of the month...it is just too hot, so I do not feel like sitting at the computer :)  But today Tanith went to her friend Alyssa's Birthday Swim Party and had a blast and something happened during the party that I just had to write down  now so I would not forget...so here it is.

Tanith was talking to Alyssa about the pool and the jacuzzi, then Tanith asked Alyssa if she watches Raymond (because who doesn't right?) and then tells her about how Raymond says jacuzzi, jacuzzi in one of the episodes. It is very funny if you have seen the show and Tanith was cracking up.  So yes, Tanith watches old reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond and now started to  quote the show to other six year olds who have no idea what she is talking about...just love her ;)

Our mission: See the night time parade and watch the fireworks. The park was so busy that we did not even attempt to go on a ride...which is okay, we still had fun walking around.

She made it to the fireworks...a little tired, but lasted until the end. It was an amazing firework show, by far the best we have ever seen!

Day of fun...first the Annual College Park Picnic in the old neighborhood, followed by a play date with Alyssa.

Matching outfits...girls had fun.

Maddie Play Date...only 112 degrees, but it did not stop the girls from having a good time.

Deep in conversation :)

Some more pictures from the month. The first two are from Summer Camp, Hat Day and a group shot they had posted from one of there many adventures (Tanith is in front with her legs crossed).  I am so happy she got to participate in camp this year. They went on so many field trips and had lots of activities, both fun and educational. I am sure she will be excited for next years camp; but first we need to get ready and get through 1st Grade, which is starting in 11 days...no I am not counting down, actually kind of sad the Summer is almost over...time to sing the first day of school song "School Days...Reading, Writing, Arithmetic"...yes it is something I heard when I was little and have continued the tradition.

Lunch date with daddy and Uncle Rick at the beach

Yeah for the ice cream truck!

Having a little fun with her cousins.  Found out something interesting while talking to the girls. Tanith confessed that her friend and her share food at school...which is against the rules.  So in order to share...get this.. Seaweed treats, they hide the snack under the table and pass it to each other and the big thing here, is that they know it is wrong and against the rules, yet they still do it.

 Dialog between daddy and Tanith:
Tanith - daddy I want a snack please
Daddy - what do you want?
  Tanith - cheese and crackers
Daddy - I don't know how to make that or where to find the ingredients (yes he knows how and was   messing with her...like always)
Tanith - You don't make it, you just put it together...do I need to show you how to do it?

Here is the end result

End of the month shenanigans!
