February Update

What's New

Been a busy month already and does not seem like it will slow down. School is going well and we continue to work on focusing on tasks at school and at home. Found a new favorite television show called Master Chef Junior, which is about young kids competing in a cooking show. Not sure if my little one is getting inspired to cook, but she sure likes watching and cheering on her favorite contestants.    She does help out in the kitchen when I am cooking, but I think I limit her too much and need to let her try more tasks.  Here she is helping with breakfast and cracked four eggs and not one shell...pretty impressive. 

Rainy day activity - finally built the Ginger Bread House from Christmas :)  Messy, fun and she did it all by herself!

Feb 6 - Super excited for a Sofia play date. Tanith's bestie from pre-school whom she doesn't get to see often now that they go to different schools, but when they get together it is always a blast. Today's play date activity was bowling and the mommies had some good quality chat time as well :)

 

Feb 7 - Disneyland with the family. It was 84 degrees, crowded, and we still had a wonderful time. The only issue, was who was going to sit next to who on the rides. 

 The girls had a very big decision to make, so Tanith yelled, "huddle" and her they are figuring out seating arrangements for the ride. 

We managed to get on a lot of great rides and only waited around 20 minutes. Line for face painting at the Chinese New Year celebration took over 45 minutes. 

Random monthly pictures - Tanith making orange juice the old fashion way...kept saying get me more oranges please :) What I loved was when she looked over to me and said...this is a workout!

 Tanith asked for a blank page so she could type a message. She needed some help with a few words, but I was impressed how well she used the keyboard. The message read "Tanith of the super hero of the chargers and mom phone and Ralph phone from Tanith.

 Daddy and daughter day off...yeah no school!

 The few days I can actually take Tanith to school at regular time, rather than early before school and a picture sent from her teacher showing them working very hard during class time.

Silliness

 Proud mommy and daughter day.  At gymnastics, Tanith finally made it to the top of the rope...not an easy task, but she finally did it and was super excited afterwards.  Chilling in the car after a long practice session.

My company actually hosted a lot of little ones today. There was pizza, movies, coloring, and lots of games. Needless to say, Tanith had a blast and did not want to go home...she feel asleep as soon as I pulled out of the parking lot :)

 

Chinese New Years FCC Banquet - Year of the Monkey

Had a wonderful time at this years event. After some calculations among the table, I think this would be

our fifth banquet together. Tanith had been sick all week, but luckily was better by Saturday and we ended up having a great time. The food was outstanding, lots of entertainment and of course great company. Tanith got picked twice to help out the magician and ran around with her friends or "sisters" all night.

 

 

Feb 24 - no picture, but wanted to capture a conversation Tanith and I had on the way to school in the morning. On the radio, the disc jockey was talking about the 1800's and what people today would dislike about living during those times...not having cell phones was mentioned. Tanith said, "we are talking about the old days in school and oh my gosh, mom do know that people used to have really big phones that hung on the wall and they had to dial numbers". Ha ha, I guess I lived in the old days according to Tanith's description :) I did not even mention we had phones like that growing up and that I was the remote control that turned the channels on the television :)

Then at dinner, she told me that she calls my tortilla soup I make, Iris's Famous Soup, because it is the best in the world and she loves it...okay, I admit that just melts my heart :)
