December Update

What's new...

I still cannot believe that another year is almost coming to a close. December should be a very busy month with school, work, and holiday parties. For the first time ever, I have completed all the holiday shopping before Dec 10, which normally occurs around Dec 23.

Tanith seems to be going up so fast...too fast for this mommy, but it is nice seeing how she is developing. She has been asking for her own computer so we re-purposed one of our old ones and set her free.

Christmas wish list this year - This is actually the very first year that Tanith had very specific things she wanted. Items included: hamster, spy drone, art projects, just about everything silly toy advertised on television, and a camera. Now we just have to wait and see what Santa brings. At least she will get a few things early thanks to Hanukkah. Tanith made bracelets for her friends and cousins and even had the opportunity to shop at the school boutique and bought me and daddy something special. She was so excited to be able to shop on her own and make decisions about how much she spent to get as much value as possible out of the $30 I gave her. Will need to wait to Christmas Day to see what she picked out for us.

Here are some photos so far from play dates, sleepovers, daddy/daughter days, and just random photos.

Tanith came with me to my work game night...she had fun and was well behaved in a room of adults only.

Dentist appointment went well, however, Tanith's eyetooth is loose...which is too early. She is supposed to lose the molar first and then the eye tooth. Looks like the new tooth is pushing in the wrong direction...Orthodontist consult scheduled!

 Go Chargers with daddy!

Ninja Slime Maker...well trying to make slime!

Random Photos

I found this memo on Tanith's iPad. She is writing a message to the new baby to be in the family, Willow. She wants to recite this to the family at Christmas...I had to grab a photo of it for the blog because it is so sweet and something she thought to do this completely on her own. Tanith has always been a very caring little girl, but this was simply amazing.

Special delivery for daddy. Daddy has been working a lot and is sick, so Tanith made him a package with a get well card.

Tanith school holiday program. Tanith made her shirt at school and sang her heart out. Sadly they do not do a holiday program after third grade so this is the last one. The kids did great and put on a wonderful show.

Mommy and Tanith day of shopping, lunch, and beauty.

Christmas Eve 2017. Had a lovely time with the family. The girls are getting so big, but still enjoy the fun of Santa's (aka Sean this year) arrival. Tanith got a lot of nice gifts this year, which included: books, cup cake bake set, Nintendo Switch with Supper Mario game, Spy Drone, makeup, slippers, necklace, camera (from Santa), mermaid blanket, chalk/magnet board, the game Clue, book on experiments, and boots.

Festive Bagels

Christmas Day 2017
Tanith was up past ten the night before, but up early. She wanted to wake me up at 5am...I said no :) and we settled for 7am as gift time. She screamed at every gift, so I guess I did a good job this year.

What to do when the weather is warm on Christmas Day? Go to the beach, play in the ocean, have lunch, and end the day with a tasty ice cream..

Winter break fun with grandma/pa!

Secret photo shoot for grandpa 80th birthday gift

The winning photo was this one.

Grandpa's 80th Birthday BBQ with family and friends.
Below is the lyrics to the song the girls sang (to the theme of the TV show Adams Family).

New Years Eve (New York Style) Party with friend Alyssa. The kids had so much fun playing, dancing, and screaming Happy New Year. Mamas had fun too ;)

As we ring in the new year, I reflect back to a fun and full year. Tanith continues to amaze me with her kind heart, her independence, and her love for animals and others. A fun take-a-way to share is that Tanith loves to make lists. Lists of things to do, buy, chores, and just about anything. I foresee her being a very organized young lady, that has ideas and puts a plan into place. Her long term goal for this the rest of the year is to get her AR (reading score) up and to finish 3rd grade strong. So far she is on the right track, but tends to get frustrated easily when things do not go her way. I remind her that she is able to be successful if she keeps trying and never gives up. That sometimes it takes a number of fails to get to the success and that it is okay.  Reminding her that we learn by doing and that when she is focused and determined nothing will stop her. We are ready for what 2018 has in store for us and looking forward to a great year.

Besos my dear daughter!
