Weekend Fun

We had a busy but wonderful weekend.

It was nice spending time with the family on Saturday to pre celebrate my parents anniversary and Daryl and Tanith's birthdays.  Sunday was spent with family in the morning and then we wrapped up the afternoon at the pool with friends.

Happy First Fathers Day!

Today was Rafa's first official Fathers Day.  We celebrated what a great daddy he is by starting the morning driving up to the valley to pick up his new amp, then we enjoyed a nice brunch and wrapped up the day by staying home for some family time.

Happy Fathers Day...we love you!

Special note for Tanith
Your daddy loves you more than words can say.  You light up his days and nights. You are the most precious thing in the world to him.

Family Day at Knott's

We had a great day at Knott's Berry Farm with Grandma/Grandpa, Auntie Sheryl and cousins Monet an Elyse.  The girls had fun on the rides and at the picnic that was sponsored by daddy's work. Tanith even had her face painted for the first time and actually sat still for the painting...I wasn't sure if she would. Couldn't have asked for a nicer day.

23 Months Old Today!

Another month has flown by and Tanith is now 23 months old.

She weighs in at 25 pounds and is about 35 inches tall (give or take...someone would not stand still for an accurate measurement.)

Tanith Update:   Her newest achievement is that she is able to put on her shoes by herself, though this sometimes takes awhile she is determined to do it. When she is not putting her shoes on, she is pulling all of ours out of the closet and walking around the house in them.  She is also doing somersaults every chance she gets (even on the hardwood floor), still loves to sing/dance, playing with bubbles is something she wants to do everyday and her art work on the driveway with chalk is another favorite thing. She also can swing on the "big girl" swing now (with some assistance) and has demonstrated how strong she is by hanging from the monkey bars (again with some assistance of course), but she is able to pull her legs up, kick them straight out in front and all by herself...I need to get a picture of this soon...amazing strength she has.

She is really trying to talk more. It is taking awhile, but she is definitely trying and is saying the word "baby" and as of yesterday "library" really clear.  She is also trying to say "thank you", "please", "open", "snack",and "juice".

Tanith shocked us a few weeks ago when she started to climb out of her crib. She did it so quietly that we did not know she is was out until we heard a knock on her door.  I felt that it was too early to convert the crib to a toddler bed, but after five straight days of this we did...it just was time. Tanith was really excited as daddy started taking the crib apart and I think she understood what was about to happen.  She even helped daddy put the toddler rail on.  She is in and out of the bed and probably thinking "finally". It has been a couple of weeks now and the only big difference now is that she is up and ready to see the world a lot earlier than before (6:30 or 7:00 now, compared to 8:30). This is taking an adjustment for mommy and daddy.  Finally, if the crib conversion was not enough...we said goodbye to the high chair.  She prefers to eat with us at the table and is doing really well at it, so we figured that we would say in her words "bye bye".

Tanith continues to amaze us with her disposition and attitude. She had her first bad cold a few weeks shy of turning 23 months old.  She had strep throat and at the same time three new teeth coming in.  Needless to say, she was very uncomfortable, in pain and cried a lot, especially every time she tried to eat or drink...but even through it all she managed to find some time to play and even laugh...she is a very strong little girl.  I cannot believe how fast she is growing up.  Next month she will be two years old and we will have been together as a family for one year.  So excited!

Here are some pictures of the new bed, play date and Memorial Weekend.

Eating at the table now!
