Family Vacation

Our family road trip to San Francisco

Day One, we went to the Santa Barbara Mission, Solvang (loved the little Danish town) and then drove to Monterrey where we spent the night.

Day Two, we were up early and took a beautiful drive to San Francisco.  San Francisco was extremely cold and driving around the city was an experience for me.  We parked down near Fisherman's Wharf and decided to take a bus tour with the first stop being the Golden Gate Bridge.  We decided to stay on top of the bus for the ride and really felt how cold it was.  It was a beautiful day, no fog and had a great view of the city and Alcatraz from the bridge.  After the tour it was time for a late lunch and then we had plans to visit Brian, Doris, Samantha and Sierra, whom we traveled with in China.  We have not seen them since China and we had a very nice visit.  I wish we lived closer to them because you can just tell that the girls would have been great friends.  We settled in to our hotel for the night and headed home via the coast line.  We drove through Big Sur, Carmel and Cambria which was so scenic before we headed on the 101 home.

We spent a lot of time in the car driving and Tanith was amazing. She only got a little fussy on the first day, but that only lasted a few minutes. On the way home which was the longest time in the car, never a peep or problem.

Christmas

Christmas Eve was spent with the family in Manhattan Beach. We had a lot of fun and really enjoyed watching the girls.  This is such a fun age now and they all understand who Santa is and Tanith understands the true meaning of Christmas from her learning's in school.  Santa this year was top notch and did a great job passing out the gifts to all the girls.  We had our tasty traditional Lemon Drop Martinis and wonderful food to eat.  We finally got home around 11:30pm and got the kids off to bed so we could start wrapping all the gifts.  I made it into bed at 2am and the rest after 4am...needless to say it was a slow moving morning the next day for all.

Christmas Day started off with breakfast first and then opening of all the gifts. Santa was good to Tanith this year and she got a lot drawing and painting gifts, but her most favorite gift was her new baby stroller and crib. Grandma and Grandpa joined us in the morning.
