April is a special month for us. On April 1, 2010 we received a phone call that would change our lives forever. The call was to inform us that we had been matched to a little girl in China and we told so many facts about our soon to be Tanith. Then on April 9th, FedEx delivered us a package containing three pictures of our daughter. It was love at first sight! Here is a "Then and Now" photo.
- You say "I can do it, I am a big girl"
- You were trying to tell me something, but mumbling. When I asked you what you said, you told me "never mind I am talking to myself"
- You spell your name. The letter "N" still sounds like "M" but you can spell your name and recognize the letters
- You want to send an email or leave us a message
- Your adorable dance moves, especially the booty shake
- While playing doctor and I am the patient, you call me "Iris" and when you ask what my name is, you respond by saying, "nice to meet you"
- You say, "let me sing you a song" and you do
- You play dress up...it is almost every night and each time a new ensemble
- You say "patas" which means "feet" in Spanish after everything. For instance, you will say "how are you...patas" and then laugh. We think at one time someone laughed when you said patas and so you say it all the time now
- You show your independence and how outgoing you are. At restaurants you want to order your own food and ask the server "what do you have" when deciding on a drink
- You tell someone your 3-years old, and will be 4 on July 1
- Your ability to ask smart questions to understand a conversation
You surprised me when...
- We were leaving for school and about to enter the car when you said, "I forgot my headband...what the hell". I could not believe what I heard. Your inflection on the statement was spot on, but we had to have a little talk and add that word to the "bad word" list (I think she learned that from me, not daddy).
- You wanted to go in the backyard and play. I told you you needed to get dressed and that it was chilly outside. You came out of your room dressed, including gloves and a purse. When I asked you why a purse, you said, "I need it to carry my cell phone"...really!
- When you were over grandma/pas house and when leaving you noticed some tomato juices on the work bench, you said "my daddy really would like those". Grandma said you can bring him one, and you said, "I will take them all"...so cute.
