October Update

How big am I now?
Height:
Weight: 42

What's New
  • LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this photo to the right;.  This was your Kindergarten Picture Day outfit.  Growing up too fast!  This picture turned out better than your actual school photo :), glad I took a few pictures prior to going to school.
  • Tanith has a new bird, that flew into our backyard and she named it Dora.  Its a Quail and is a cute little bird who is lucky to have Tanith as a mommy.  She cleans up after Dora (who is very messy with her bird seed) and on her own. We never asked her to do so, she just noticed the mess and started taking care of it :)
  • Always asking me to share stories about when you were a baby. You love hearing about what you did, said and acted. One day when you are able to read, I am printing up your blog so you can read everything.
  • This month is Lunch on the Lawn at school, but mommy has to work and when I told you I could not go, you said "I should pretend I am sick so you can come to the picnic and not go to work".  I have no idea where that came from, especially since we have never done that before.  Our little "plotter"...we are in so much trouble when you get older! Luckily I got to work from home that day, so I was able to attend (see what happened below with the photos)
  • We have been reading Charlottes Web together for two week every night.  Loved the time we spend reading and the story. As a bonus you and daddy watched the movie.

No other way to beat the triple digit heat in October but by swimming at grandma/pa house.  Play date with her Santa Clara school buddies.  Megan, brother Conner and Sophia.  BFF's!

Tanith, that is Louie's bed...oh well, he does not seem to mind too much!

10/9:  Lunch on the Lawn at Schroeder Elementary.  I had told Tanith I could not make it, but if she could eat whatever she wanted for lunch, this would be the day.  She said, no that she would eat the cafeteria food.  Ok!  So she had no idea, but I was able to surprise her.  I had everything laid out waiting for her to come out.  Since she was not sure who, if anyone was coming, I saw her from the distance scanning the lawn, looking and still looking.  So to end the suspense, I got up walked over to her and said Hi.  She screamed and jumped into my arms...sooooo happy to see me.  She went to the cafeteria to get her lunch and made her way over to our blanket.  Her lunch consisted of chicken, rice and salad.  Salad!!! you do not like salad, but told me you got salad, because mommy loves salad....melt my heart.  Always thinking of others! We had such a good time and I am so happy that I was able to spend lunch with her on this special day.

Say its not true, yes it is...Tanith is so excited for her first field trip with her class. Its next month and she is going to a farm and taking a school bus.  Can check two things off of her bucket list :) field trip and ridding a school bus.  She could not contain herself when I got home from work, she told me all about it and said "don't worry mommy, it will be safe, can I go PLEASE!".  She knows me well, of course I will be a nervous and to top it off, I will not be there to take pictures.
Of course I signed the permission slip.

So Tanith and daddy went to a meeting for the Indian Princesses.  It is a special club, like Girls Scouts, but for daddy's and daughters only.  They have not signed up yet, but probably will.  Below is a picture of their hand prints and their special names.

What a nice surprise, our dear friends Brian, Doris, Samantha, and Sierra (whom we meet in China over four years ago) were in town on vacation.  We had the pleasure of having dinner with them and a quick afternoon trip to Disney.  Wish we lived closer to them, but it's nice to know we will remain in touch.

Afternoon out, getting the wheels washed!

Yet another trip to Disney.  Why not, we have passes and she loves going.  Ran into our friends at the end of the day.  Loved how Maddie asked Tanith, "Let's be best friends, ok"

The only time she takes a nap is in the car.  This is how she feel asleep while out with grandma/pa!

Trunk-or-Treat event at school.  Tanith was one of many Elsa's dressed up.  It was a fun, early treat gathering experience. The parents did a great job decorating up the cars and it was great seeing all the kids dressed up in their costumes.

I think this is officially the last day anyone will be in the pool this year...burrrrr!  I actually think this is the first time that I can remember that anyone every used the pool in October.  She was out quickly and then games with Grandma below.

Time for some Trick-or-Treating.  Both of us were a little sick, but that did not stop us, nor did a little bit of rain.  We managed to hit the circuit at 7pm and lasted about 45 min before someone's little legs gave up.  The challenge with our neighborhood is that the houses are not close to each other, so it does require more walking.  Tanith asked if next time we could bring the car...really!  She did manage to get a good stash of treats this year and had a lot of fun. I loved that she was so polite to everyone, and always ended with a Thank You and Happy Halloween!

Found this on my phone, Tanith's selfie video - giving the run down on Halloween.
